Cookie Sheet Advent Calendar Kit

Oh how I love Christmas. It is hands down my favorite holiday. On of my best Christmas childhood memories are of our felt Advent Calendar. My grandma Elenor made it and there was a handmade felt ornament for each day. It was such a delight. Although I'm sure we weren't so delightful when we would fight over who got to put on the angel and the nutcracker and who had to put up the candle.
So, the tradition continues with a fantastic Advent calendar made from our favorite scrapbooking embellishments. The calendar uses a cookie sheet and each ornament is a magnet. I used the backside of the cookie sheet so you can store the extra ornaments on the other side. It was so much fun picking out all of the wonderful embellishments for this calendar-there are so many things to choose from! This kit is chock full of great stuff including a full package of Pink Paislee glittered chipboard letters. The only things that you need to finish this project is adhesive and a 1/2" circle punch. I recommend something strong to attach the button magnets-like Tombo Multi Glue (the green top).

This kit is available for pre-order in our Kit Shop right now for $28.00, we are still waiting for a few pieces to arrive before we can ship it out-it should be all ready to roll by Friday Nov 20th-so you will have plenty of time to put it together before December 1st.

Winter Event Date/Place is Officially Set!

Oh we are so excited to have our next event officially on the calendar.
Winter Workshop Event
Sat Feb 27th-Sun Feb 28th
Hilton Garden Inn-Issaquah

Registration is open now on our website, we are offering 4 different payment options, including a payment plan. Click here for more info.

We have so much fun stuff planned, we are really trying to spread our chick wings and try some new ideas with our next event-for me that means using paper and techniques that I have never worked with. We are doing an All Chicks project (that means we will design it and teach it together) using some Graphic 45 paper, vintage metal findings-you know clips, hangy things, charms, etc, some great inking techniques. I am excited to learn something new and then to pass the ideas on.

I was also thrilled to hear that Basic Grey has TWO new paper lines coming out next week. Oh geez, how do they do it? Hopefully one or both will be perfect for our 12 x 12 layout class for winter.

We are also in the midst of making a TON of kits. We still have the Home is Where You Are kit available, plus a few leftovers from our October weekend. We are getting ready to roll out our mid month kit which will be a Cookie Sheet Advent Calendar. We will have a free class to assemble your calendar on Sat November 28th. We'll keep you posted on the details. If you pre ordered a kit from us during the October weekend, we finally have the paper back in stock and should be getting those out in the next week or so.

Sorry no photos with this post. I could have snapped some pics of my extremely messy dining room/kit area in our house, but I don't want to scare anyone. Or I could include a pic of Oskar with his muddy paws-well now they aren't muddy because he thoughtfully cleaned them off on the family room carpet. Ahh puppies-I think he has gone in and out of the back door about 74 times.

We hope to see lots of you at our event in February. It is going to be an amazing weekend!

New Month-New Kit Available

Happy November
Okay, so I know I was going to roll out photos of our FIRST online kit yesterday, but I have a really really good excuse.

Sunshine.

Lots of gorgeous Northwest Sunshine - - plus water - - plus winter crabbing season just opened for Puget Sound.
I spent the day yesterday boating with my husband John on the spectacular Puget Sound, lunch in Winslow on Bainbridge Island, some salmon fishing (I actually napped in the sun and then talked to my sister on the phone most of that time), then we pulled up our crab pots. And then . . .

wait for it . . .

2 Crabs.
Its a whole lot of work and mess to catch 2 crabs-even though they were nice big ones.
But I am sure my niece Brittani will fully enjoy them when I see her later this week. We are all mad for crab. So when we got home we were exhausted, and our sweet puppies were totally wired. So after I cleaned and cooked the crab I spent most of the evening pulling on a chew toy rope.

So that brings us to Monday morning, November 2nd-
Lets talk about our first online kit- Home is Where You Are.
This is a totally custom cut house shaped chipboard album (album is 12" tall and 9" wide at the base) with windows pre cut out on the front doors- how perfect will your photo be peeking out behind one of those windows?
The sides of the album are accordion folds that the photo mats, pockets, tags and journaling cards are attached to. It makes for a fun interactive album and the perfect place to highlight your favorite family photos from fall. This project is part mini album, part display album. It would look wonderful tucked into your fall decor, or even as a centerpiece on your fall table.

The paper is October Afternoon from their Weathervane collection. I know it isn't brand new but I have had a crush on this paper since it came out, and have been waiting for the right project.

So, one of the best things about this project- all of those photo mats, tags, pockets, accordion side binding pieces, etc are PRE CUT for you. We left most of the patterned paper in full 12 x 12 sheets so you could decide which paper you wanted in which spots, but all of the other pieces are ready for you to assemble and add photos.

This kit includes:
5 different October Afternoon patterns from Weathervane (they are double sided)
12 x 12 sheet of coordinating Journaling Cards
6 x 12 sheet of coordinating Stickers
May Arts Ribbon & Trim-5 different types
Making Memories Felt Letters
Buttons
Brads
Eyelets
Metal Rim Tags
Custom Cut Chipboard House and Doors
Precut cardstock mats, tags, library pockets-all Bazzill-French Vanilla, Yam, Pinecone, Parakeet, Lagoon
and as always full color step by step instructions.

Kit Price: $27.00

I will be putting the kits up on our website later this morning for orders. If you ordered from us last week, I am shipping out kits today and I plan to get completely caught up.
Remember to only select "Pick Up" for shipping if you can arrange to come to Sammamish or Issaquah to pick up your kits. Otherwise you need to select the shipping option.
Thanks and Happy Monday!
