It's A Party Mini Book of Tags and Pockets

This week our project is a really fun 6x6 mini album, that has a little of everything, tags, pockets, accordion folding, cute paper, ribbon, Oh so much to love!

The project is actually 3 sections with an accordion pleat in the center joined to 2 sections that are just folded over cardstock. It creates a fun mini with lots of places for photos, journaling and mementos.

The video shows you step by step how to construct this project
Enjoy!

Project Flashback-Love You Page from 2011

Originally posted January 20, 2011

This week is all about LOVE!!!! I am planning to put some adorable photos of my chocolate lab girl Hershey on these pages. Her pictures will look beautiful with the light pink and green patterns and cardstock. There is so much cute Valentine paper in the stores right now- oh wait or in my stash. I have a thing for buying Valentine paper with the idea that I am going to make cards (hmmm never done it) but I have a really smashing collection of paper now!

This layout is 3 different fun patterns, plus some gorgeous bits of ribbon and a few heart brads. I have done this layout many times, there is a lot of space for photos plus I like the use of the patterned papers.

Project Flashback-Love Is... A mini book made from legal sized envelopes

Our theme this week is Love Is . . . but it is not necessarily a Valentines book- it can just be about anything, place, or person that you love.

I used this really cute paper line by K & Co and a ton of random embellishments- heart clothes pins, heart buttons, large and small heart brads, ribbon, punch outs, heart stick pins- you get the picture. Dig into those unused embellishments and put together this cute project.

The video shows you step by step what you need to do to create this book. It is 2 segments, so make sure you watch both.

Project flashback-a great layout with video using envelopes as photo mats

Our layout this week is all about stories. First, a little back story- on Christmas Eve my family was sitting around eating snacks (uh yeah the BEST part of Christmas Eve) and I started asking everyone about their favorite Christmas memories. So my parents started telling stories about their favorite Christmas morning memories from when they were kids, and my sister was sharing some of hers and my husband, etc etc. Okay, then I looked at my bag from Starbucks and their theme for Christmas was "Stories are gifts - Share". Hmmm. Inspirational. You could totally cut out the piece from the Starbucks bag or their holiday cup sleeve and use it on the layout if you want.

So the idea with this layout is to collect some stories, travel, holiday, birthday, just funny family stuff and write them down for your scrapbook. We are using envelopes to make pockets to tuck the stories into, and then you can put a photo on the front.

We are also using one of my favorite techniques that looks so much harder than it is, mitered corners. We are running a striped paper all the way around the layout and mitering the corners- such a fantastic looking technique.

I included a video this week with both of our techniques- it is handy to watch the mitering technique if you haven't done it before, or it has been a while.

Project Flashback-8x8 Handmade Planner

This is a project that I made many years ago but it is a really fun 8x8 handmade planner.
I used the Preservation Series 8x8 Scrapbook by SEI for my base and then lots of cardstock, printable calendars, etc.
You use the page protectors to create pockets to store cards, etc and then there are inserts made from cardstock that have a calendar, birthday list, etc. I like this so much I might have to re-do it for this year. I love a write-in planner, I am not much for keeping everything on my phone/ipad/computer.

The video shows off the details and there are some instructions to create this fun project.

Project flashback-Our Everyday MemoriesAccordion Envelope Book

Originally posted January 26, 2011- Our Everyday Memories

Our project his week is another fantastic way to use envelopes. I am loving all of the great envelope ideas- and it is so easy to find cool envelopes. They are everywhere from Target to Staples to Paper Zone. I bought these brown bag envelopes at Ben Franklin in Redmond.

This project also includes a file to print your embellishments, that way you can select whatever cardstock matches with the paper you select. You need a 1" circle punch and a corner rounder to create the tags and punch outs.

In the instructional video I show you how to assemble the book and also to make the smaller envelopes, tabs and photo corners.

4 Mini Albums in a Bookshelf Box

You are going to love the project this week- it is simple and cool- and a great way to organize. Who isn't looking for simple and organized in the same project?

This is 4 mini albums and a handmade bookshelf box for them to fit into. The minis are sized to put your 4x6 photos right onto the page with no cardstock showing. If you want to embellish the inside of these little albums you certainly could.
