Day 3 Cookie Sheet Message Board-10 Days of Christmas Gifts

Happy Holiday Gift Making Day 3!

Today our project is a fun one, it is a cookie sheet message board center. I love these kind of projects because you can make them from just a few bits and pieces from your stash. We did this with the word CREATE- but you can easily personalize this with a name.

There are a few essential items to get started:

Supplies:

Cookie Sheet- I bought mine at Dollar Tree- it cost- you guessed it $1

Cork Board- you only use a small piece, you could make several of these from just one cork tile

2 or 3- 12 x 12 Patterned Papers (I used 2 double sided pieces)
Coordinating Letters-or you can cut with Cricut
Printable Calendars-(right click on each of the images and "SAVE PICTURE AS", save to your hard drive and then open with your favorite photo program and print on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper

Paint-I just used craft acrylic paint, you could also use spray paint

Magnets

Thumb Tacks

2 small binder clips
Flowers
Dots for flower centers
2 feet ribbon to decorate board
1 foot each of 2 different ribbons for letters
2 feet wider ribbon for hanging
3 buttons
1 foot twine or floss for button holes
Tools and Adhesives:
Trimmer, Scissors, Corner Rounder, Cropadile, Black or Brown Ink, Red Tape or other super strong tape, Glue dots or other glue to attach ribbon, foam tape or pop dots

Lets get started!

Use Cropadile to punch two holes in the top of cookie sheet, about 3” from each edge.
Paint edges and in about 1” into center of sheet.
Cut each patterned Paper-8 3/4 (w) x 4 1/2 (h), you can overlap them slightly. You will need to alter the measurements to fit your cookie sheet.
Round upper and lower corners, ink if desired.
Adhere papers using Red Super Tape or other very strong adhesive.
Glue ribbon across paper seams.
Cut cork board to 3 1/2 x 7 and glue at bottom-you can ink the edges of cork if desiredTitle-Ink edges of letters. Tie ribbon on some letters, add buttons to others, add flowers, etc.
Attach letters using foam tape or pop dots.

Calendar and Magnet Clips:
Cut calendar pages apart.
Cut piece of scrap paper and glue to clips. Glue magnet on the back of clips.
Use Super tape to attach magnets to back of flowers, add centers.
Use Super tape to attach thumb tacks to flowers, add centers.
Tie ribbon through cookie sheet and hang!
