Another Project for our February Workshop Weekend- Our Family 8x8 Album

Oh how I love this album by Kathy. Let me count the ways

First, it is a fantastic set of eight-8x8 pages in one of our favorite Bella Boulevard paper lines, Honey I'm Home. The collection is a great combination of navy blue, dark red, gold and green, with fun patterns and a sticker embellishment sheet. Kathy's pages are full of wonderful details with plenty of room for your favorite family pics.

Second, we found these AWESOME album stands. They are heavy acrylic by Clear Scraps, and a super way to display these cute pages. We punched the stands and added rings to the top to attach the pages, which brings me to another thing I love . . .

The pages are inserted in page protectors so you can change them or add to them whenever you want. How great is that? You just flip the page over the back and another page is on display- it is such a great way to liberate your scrapbook pages from inside the dark covers of your albums!

So much to love. My photos on the other hand are not too great-it is hard to photograph the pages in plastic protectors with a flash, but alas it is already 11 pm and I PROMISED to get a new post tonight.

This is another fun class for our February Workshop Weekend. We still have a few spots left- but hurry I signed up two more people today!

This lovely little book is 4 different custom cut chipboard pages covered with fantastic LilyBee Vintage Poppy paper, 4 shaped punch out pages, gorgeous rub ons (they really do go on like butter), lots of great embellishments, ribbons, pockets, tags, and so many more nooks and crannies to record all of the blessings in your life.

New Kit Available for January-A Bella Year

Good Morning Chicks!

It is bright and early-okay not so bright yet, it is dark and early, but I have a great project to put online this morning for a new kit. It was one of those projects that I thought I would just rock out in a few hours but literally took me days to design-I can be so slow sometimes. It is 5:25 am right now, I am not going to post the project for sale until later this morning. It will be in our Kit Shop at ScrapYardChicks.com.

A Bella Year (named for Bella Boulevard paper that is used for the project)

A Book of 12 Recycled Kraft File Folders turned into a scrapbook. Each folder can hold papers, photos, memorabilia, etc. and then the front and back of the folder is a scrapbook page with photo mats, journaling tags, etc. for each month of the year.

Everything is included to complete project except adhesive and ink

Hey Scrapping Chicks

This is the wonderful sight that I am treated to on a fairly regular basis these days. Beautiful packing boxes full of product!

I don't love when the UPS/FedEx delivery comes-both of my dogs start their full out barking as if we are being invaded by an army of cats- but I do love what they leave on my porch.

So I wanted to share my fun with you all today. It is a nice bright spot in another grey rainy Seattle January day! Have a wonderful Thursday!

The Chicks are getting grungy!

We wanted to show you a few sneak peeks of what we are working on for our February Workshop Weekend. But first, some back story.

Last year Kathy and I (Kerry) went to a CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) show recap at one of the local scrapbook stores. We were both thrilled to see all of the new stuff that was coming to our area-I mean new scrapbooking supplies-who wouldn't be totally excited! Then, they pulled out some paper from this company that I had only heard of a few times,

Okay, I hated it. I think I actually made the sticking my finger down my throat motion to demonstrate my disgust- I am so very, very mature. It reminded me of all of the junk we had cleaned out of my Grandma B's house after she died. I was not a fan. I am all about bright colors and fun designs, Graphic 45 is vintage and dark and grungy.

Fast forward a few months and I start seeing all sorts of fun projects- hmmmm made with that horrible paper Graphic 45. It was beginning to grow on me.

So when we decided for our Winter Workshop that we wanted to do a travel book-we were inspired by Maya Road's Suitcase Box and coordinating Album- what paper line popped into our heads? Graphic 45 Transatlantique. It is amazing how much better it looks now-tee hee.

Our idea was to make a series of tags for the book, each with different techniques, (Yes, we heart you Tim Holtz and your fantastic 12 tags of Christmas ideas). Here are some of the tags that we have been working on so far.

We are using alcohol inks, paint daubers, metal tape-that stuff is so stinkin cool, crackle medium, distress ink, crackle paint, and LOTS of metal clips, pins, brads, etc. We promise that we will have plenty of time to get all of them done- we are being careful to pace our classes a bit better. We think you will have a ton of fun with these-they are definitely outside of our comfort zone-but we had a blast learning how to really grunge up some plain ole' shipping tags.

The project is titled "Enjoy the Journey" and we are going to explore lots of different techniques as we decorate the outside of the suitcase, and create the tags to go on the album pages.

We'll keep posting the progress with our project. We are waiting for a few more pieces before we can put it all together.

Note-when we got to CHA in a few weeks Graphic 45 is definitely on my list of vendors to check out and see what is new. See how much more mature I have become in the last year?

New Kit-Very Merry Folded Christmas Mini Album

October Afternoon’s Very Merry Collection is full of a fun assortment of vintage and whimsical patterns-perfect for this 6x6 folded album.
