Wow What a Weekend!

We had the most amazing time at our October Workshop Weekend. I left feeling both exhausted and excited, what a fantastic group of women. We are already planning for our next event and have set the date to February 27th and 28th. We are hoping to stay close to home again-I think for Spring we will change to a new destination type of locale. There is a real comfort in being close to home in case we need to run home to get something and close to our favorite scrapbook stores, The Mad Scrapper and Friends and Company.

A special thank you to our unpaid work crew-Kathy's sister Sharon and her mom Betty. They came from Arkansas to visit and attend our first event. They are also the very talented ladies who made our adorable aprons. They really helped us get set up, putting together the goodie bags, setting the tables and so much more! Thank you thank you thank you !

Here is Darcie posing in her cute apron with our super fun desk top organizers. We had Coca Cola and John Deere. The room looked absolutely amazing all set up with our project totes, goodie bags, organizers and other special treats.

Here is our Sunday Morning Goodie Bag-Welcome Scrappers to another day of creativity

Here are some photos of our hardworking Scrap Yard Chicks.

Thanks Ladies!

Here is another great project for our October Weekend Workshop. It is the Mixed Media Album done with the gorgeous Mistletoe line by Making Memories.

The album is a combination of acrylic, chipboard, tags, cardstock and pockets sprinkled with A LOT of great embellishments.
Kathy did a Countdown to Christmas theme, what a wonderful way to document the busy holiday season.

Ooh look what the UPS Man brought!

Boxes of product from Basic Grey and Making Memories. Love Love Love all of these brand new releases. Basic Grey actually sent us one of each piece of paper from their new releases for prize give aways.
4 full paper lines-Eerie, Eskimo Kisses, Indian Summer and Nook and Pantry.
We have been anxiously waiting for the new Mistletoe by Making Memories for Kathy's project-the mixed media album and Basic Grey for my Sunday layout classes. Oh, it will be a busy weekend! Enjoy the sneak peek photos.

Another Set of Project Photos

Okay, I know that I wrote that the recipe book was my favorite, but I have a new favorite project, the Desktop Calendar. This will be our first project class on Saturday morning, what a great start to our weekend.
Oh my- it is so cute! First of all, October Afternoon's Cherry Hill paper and punch out die cuts really make this project fun, plus add in buttons, ribbon, rick rack, all based on custom die cut chipboard album pages- fantastic!
We bound the calendar with our favorite method-the Bind It All and it fastens on to a wonderful metal album display by Zutter.
This will look so cute sitting in my kitchen by the phone!

House Box Project Photos

This is Darcie's project and it is still a work in progress. It is so adorable that I had to share some photos of her work so far.
It is a Maya Road Box and the top lifts off to reveal a mini album inside. The outside is pretty much done, but she is still working on the mini. She combined paper from a new company that we found, Upsy Daisy Designs from Victoria BC in Canada. The paper line is Walk in the Park and it is PERFECT for a house book, fall photos, family pics, etc.
Umm-are you thinking, hey is that Puget Sound in the background. Heck yeah! Darcie, Kathy and I spent last weekend on Vashon Island scrapbooking and recharging our batteries (code for eating lots of chocolate and good food with other scrapbooking friends) Joy had to miss our fun weekend, but we are hoping she can join us next time. If you want to see what else Darcie worked on-the most adorable Halloween banner to hang at her real job workplace, click here to see it in her 2 Peas Gallery.
She is also using some super cute rub ons by October Afternoon for great captions, sayings, etc for the pages, Maya Road chipboard trees and lots of other fun goodies. Did I mention that Upsy Daisy Designs has corduroy covered brads-they are so cool-and yep we're totally using them for this project.
Anyway, during this class you will be decorating the outside of your box and then working on the mini album too. Darcie is truly a paper artist, she loves to manipulate the paper to create shingles, windows, trees, etc. We'll post more photos when the mini is done. Enjoy what Darcie has finished so far! The house is 8" x 6.5" x 5", the Chipboard book measures 4.75" x 4.75".

Mini Class "Make and Take" Project Sneak Preview

Grateful Coin Envelope Album

This project is one of our mini classes we will teach on Sunday afternoon. We combined custom cut coin pockets with the beautiful Amber Road paper and embellishments from Pink Paislee to create a fantastic mini album.
The envelopes and tags create the perfect little spot to record all of the things we are grateful for. This would also be a wonderful little mini to put your Thanksgiving photos in.
