Smash It Art Journal

Hi Chicks

This is a make and take project that Scrap Yard Chicks did at the Puyallup Scrapbook Expo. I promised our subscribers some directions, so if you want to learn how we put it together watch the video below.

Darcie and I worked on this together- it was definitely one of those "make it work" moments the night before the EXPO. The book is bound with a rubber band and a paper clip- so cool- right?

We reinforced the binding with colored duct tape and then hand folded two different pockets. The cover is made with a 9x12 shipping envelope.

New Be Merry Kit- Will be Available Aug 1st

Hey Chicks

We have a fantastic new kit-that will be available to purchase on August 1st. It is a super fun Christmas Mini Book, each page is die cut from chipboard, acrylic, cardstock and patterned paper- you just assemble, no tracing and cutting for this one.

There are lots of great pockets, tags, chipboard, acrylic and other fun goodies featuring paper, stickers and punch out die cuts from October Afternoon's Good Cheer Collection.

Check our Kit Shop on August 1st to purchase this kit. We don't think this one will last long!

Project Preview for June 15th

Here are a few photos for our project of the week, a 4x12 Mini book for Family Memories.

This is an awesome format for a mini book because you can use full size photos- our album has space for 14, plus some other smaller pics. This is a fun and quick project to put together.

We will have kits of this project on our website later tonight, the kits will include all of the printable pieces, pockets, paper, embellishments, cardstock, rings, ribbon, etc.

It is a tribute to Father's Day- and so I made a trip to the Hardware Store for metal washers. They look so cool on this layout.

Preview of Project for Weds June 8th

This is a quick preview of our Weekly Project for our subscribers. It is a fun mini made from scratch.

Each page is different, the base of the book is all white cardstock with the colorful Ad Lib paper collection by Bo Bunny adhered on top.

I used the 6x6 paper pad so all of the paper designs are perfectly scaled down.
