Sneak Peek 3- Library Tray with 4 Mini Albums

Oh what fun this project is! 4 different mini albums in a fantastic 7 Gypsies library tray!

This album is full of hand folded vellum pockets and some great embellished insert cards. This album is all made from scratch- such a cool technique!

This one is an album made of shipping tags, altered, covered, embellished, embossed, inked and into fun little pieces of art.

Album number 3 is an accordion album of pockets made from one sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock! The covers are cool embossed metal that I used alcohol ink, paint and sandpaper to distress. This one is messy but fun!

Album 4 is a custom created canvas cover with stencils and ink. The book is all handmade and hand bound and then the pages are bound with stab stitches (that sounds so gruesome doesn't it?) and then we will finish this off with some fun embellishments.

More Sneak Previews for October Workshop Weekend

Here is the 16x20 Frame project made with a different collection, the Simple Stories Urban Traveler.

I also used Tim Holtz Distress Ink to color the canvas.

I made some custom die cuts for this version, a luggage tag photo frame and a suitcase.

October Workshop Weekend Sneak Preview-16 x 20 Hanging Memories Frame

The sneak previews are starting for our October Workshop Weekend.

This fun project is a 16x20 Canvas that I made into a frame, added some screw eyes, baker's twine and then just had a lot of fun with the Say Cheese! collection by Simple Stories.

We will also be offering a version of this project using Urban Traveler by Simple Stories.

Fall Workshop Weekend

October 19-20th, 2013

Our Workshop Weekends Include-

-All 5 classes-We complete 4 Large projects plus a 12 x 12 Layout Class (8 pages), (see class descriptions below) and and evening of ‘Make and Take’ style mini projects. Each project is packed in a kit complete with all supplies.

-2 Guest Instructors Elle Price from Elle's Studio and Adrienne Guitron, one of our Scrap Yard Chicks Fave Teachers

-Class handouts with step by step color instructions for each project.

-Goodie bag on Saturday and Sunday

-Fun Tabletop Organizer

We will also have:
-Prize Drawings throughout the weekend
-Tool Table-We have all of the tools available for our projects all weekend long-so you can finish them up whenever you want.
-Shopping-we will have lots of great stuff to buy including some of the latest and greatest tools, our favorite adhesives, ink, extra project supplies, and other Scrap Yard Chick kits.
-Free Crop Time to catch up on unfinished projects or to work on something new
-We start at 9 am on Saturday morning and finish with classes around 9 pm on Saturday. The rest of the evening is your free time to scrapbook or finish projects. Our Sunday schedule is 9 am-3 for classes and then 3-6 is free time.

Here is a brief description of what is coming for our Fall Workshop Projects:

6x12 Family Book featuring Collecting Moments by Fancy Pants. I loved the combination of navy, coral, green and blue plus so many wonderful embellishments to use in a mini book that is not so mini. The idea with a 6x12 format is that you can use full size 4x6 photos to complete a wonderful keepsake or gift album.

 

16x20 Hanging Memory Frame featuring Say Cheese or Urban Traveler 

This fun project will incorporate so many fun techniques and embellishments in a perfect display piece for your wall. We will be layering chipboard, paper, ribbon, die cuts, and more on hanging tags attached with clothespins. This project would be a great gift- but you won't want to give it away! You get to choose which collection is the right fit for your project- or you can do both!

 

 

7 Gypsies Mini Library Drawer- This smaller size (12" x 4") library drawer is perfect for all of those fun Instagram photos we have all been taking. We will be making 4 different mini books to live in our drawer- each a different binding technique. So many fun techniques with this project, get ready for a jam packed art discovery session.

 

Photo Freedom Layouts-Adrienne has been teaching me how to do this fun method that is part Project Life, part traditional 12 x 12 Scrapbooking. She will be teaching a class to show you how fun and fast this method is and how to incorporate it with your current scrapbooking. There will be paper choices for this class, I just don't know what they are going to be yet.

 

Elle's Studio Class- I don't know what kind of project Elle will be teaching for us. I am sure it is going to be fabulous, I will provide more details and photos as soon as I have them.

More Previews of our Christmas in August Projects

Another great project for our Christmas in August workshop, August 17th and 18th.  There is still time to register, I have a few more spots available.

 Gingerbread House with Album Roof, Saturday August 17th, 1 pm- 4 pm. This fun class features a custom made house box and album- yes we are making it all from scratch with some great Jillibean Soup paper and embellishments.

 The sample is made as a Christmas Favorites Recipe Book- but this is such a great format and easy to customize into a Favorite Photos, Favorite Traditions, or even a place to save those wonderful Christmas card photos you get every year.

I used lots of great embellishments for this project, with plenty of room for your photos, recipes, or memories.

Christmas In August 17t & 18th- Third Sneak Preview

Oh Snap! Year in Review Mini Album (or Year in Advance)-
Sunday August 18th 1- 4pm.

This is such a great and colorful album, it will be all ready for you to add your photos for a fantastic gift- or to keep it for yourself. This colorful product is all by Simple Stories. The project is divided by months with lots of embellishments to customize your project. I used the Snap! 6x8 Binder Album, the Snap Life Collection, Divided 6x8 Page Protectors, Kraft Chipboard Album Dividers and LOTS of fun details.

An entire Snap Life Paper Collection is included with this class (12"x 12" Snap Life- 6 sheets of double sided paper, fundamental and calendar stickers, six 4"x 6" transparency photo overlays, and 6 sheets of double sided, cut apart elements) plus the Teal 6x8 chipboard binder set and many more unique Scrap Yard Chicks details. 

  You could also create this mini album as a Year in Advance project for 2014- if you aren't quite up to doing an entire Project Life album. So many possibilities!

Christmas in August 17th and 18th- Second sneak preview

This fantastic project is half mini book and half display piece. I used the beautiful Basic Grey Nordic Holiday collection as the perfect backdrop for Santa or Christmas Card photos.

I added lots of beautiful embellishments, ribbon, brads, stickers and other special goodies.

The stunning project is one that gets lots of oooohs and ahhhhs and "how did you do that?" comments.

This class is part of our Christmas in August event, August 17th and 18th, you can register for the entire weekend, one day only or individual classes.
