Happy School Year!

Sorry, I have been an uber bad blogger this summer- but I promise to get back on track.

Its funny how school starting feels like a new year even though it has been MANY years since I was actually starting school in September. So Happy School Year to everyone.

We have some great project previews coming for our October Workshop and a really fantstic Halloween Magnetic Calendar coming later today. I am just putting the finishing touches on it. Even my mom (who can be slightly critical) said she thought it was pretty great. Okay here are a few sneak peeks of it:

What are we working on for October 22nd & 23rd Workshop Weekend

Hi Chicks - We have so much great stuff in the works for our Fall Workshop Weekend, October 22nd and 23rd.
Darcie and I have been pouring over all of the new merchandise from CHA to pick out the latest and greatest- here is what we have so far:

New Format Recipe Book featuring Crate Paper's Farmhouse Collection

Suitcase Travel Book- we will be constructing from scratch- featuring October Afternoon's Boarding Pass

Brand New 7 Gypsies Printer Tray- we love this larger format with spots for 5x7 and 4x6 photos, we will be using the new Bo Bunny Et Cetera line and a bunch of 7 Gypsies embellishments. (The printer trays pictured are samples made by the 7 Gypsies designers.)

Our Guest Instructor Adrienne is working on a mini with 2 choices- Family or Christmas- featuring the new company Authentique's Journey and Wonder

Mini project featuring Echo Park Paper Company's For the Record

Mini Project- Calendar on a stand- we haven't picked the supplies for this one yet.

3 choices for our 12 x 12 Layout class- Basic Grey's Out of Print, Basic Grey's Oxford and Disney Pages. We are also offering a new option to create a 12 month calendar with your pages with 2 bonus layouts.

Whew- can you tell we have been busy? Check back for photos of our finished projects over the next few weeks.

Be Merry Mini Album Kit is now available

Happy August- its the perfect time to think about Christmas- right?

Well, it might not be snowing, but it is a great time to get a jump start on Christmas projects.

This fun mini has pages of acrylic, chipboard, patterned paper and cardstock, all die cut for you so you don't have to do any tracing or cutting.

The paper collection is by October Afternoon and the kit also features their stickers and die cut pieces as well as fun ribbon and trim by May Arts.

Smash It Art Journal

Hi Chicks

This is a make and take project that Scrap Yard Chicks did at the Puyallup Scrapbook Expo. I promised our subscribers some directions, so if you want to learn how we put it together watch the video below.

Darcie and I worked on this together- it was definitely one of those "make it work" moments the night before the EXPO. The book is bound with a rubber band and a paper clip- so cool- right?

We reinforced the binding with colored duct tape and then hand folded two different pockets. The cover is made with a 9x12 shipping envelope.

New Be Merry Kit- Will be Available Aug 1st

Hey Chicks

We have a fantastic new kit-that will be available to purchase on August 1st. It is a super fun Christmas Mini Book, each page is die cut from chipboard, acrylic, cardstock and patterned paper- you just assemble, no tracing and cutting for this one.

There are lots of great pockets, tags, chipboard, acrylic and other fun goodies featuring paper, stickers and punch out die cuts from October Afternoon's Good Cheer Collection.
