Welcome Spring Mini Book Kit

Okay, it has been a long time since we posted anything on our Blog-but we promise some great photos and projects coming up in the next weeks.

First-we had a FANTASTIC time at our Winter Workshop Weekend. We had so much fun with our 36 Fun and Eager Scrapbookers. We have some great photos to post and some project pics from our weekend too-we'll get to those next week. Thank you so much to every single person who attended our event and to the four ladies who ordered our To Go packages. Thank you, thank you, thank you! More about our Winter Event and an announcement about our Spring Event (hint hint it is scheduled for May 22nd and 23rd) later, but for now . . .

Right now we have a BRAND NEW KIT!!!!!

A Graduated Chipboard Album- Welcome Spring
featuring the Jillibean Soup Paper line Egg Drop Soup.

We saw this paper line at CHA and just loved it. I think that every single paper is adorable-how often does that happen?
We have combined 4 different styles of die cut chipboard pages-including a very fun tulip page for the front of the book- plus two different pocket pages, a fold out page and loads of ribbon, tags, coordinating sticker sheet, buttons and other fun goodies!

Everything is pre cut in this kit-so you can just assemble and add your photos-how fun is that?

The kit is $29.00 and is available in our Kit Shop at Scrapyardchicks.com. These kits will ship out on Monday March 22nd.

The Layouts Are Here! The Layouts Are Here!

Okay-for those of you who love The Jerk you will know that I was inspired by the line from Steve Martin-The Phonebooks are Here! The Phonebooks Are Here! I think that the level of excitement that I feel when I finished is equal to Navin seeing his name in print. But enough of my movie nostalgia. It is 30 lovely scrapbooking pages, that I am glad to finally check off of my list.

There are three different paper lines used for the Layout Class for our Winter Workshop Weekend. Each attendee gets to choose which line they want for their layouts. We work hard to pick out paper lines that are different but that work well for lots of different photos. Here are some of the page samples-we aren't going to show you all of them because that would ruin all of the fun surprises!
Origins-gorgeous combinations of green, yellow, and dark brown. The dark colored cardstock is actually Java Brown-even though it looks black.

Lime Rickey-Ooh how I love this paper line. It reminds me of summer and Disneyland and fun times. The colors are very fun and bright, plus the birds are such a crack up. We partnered it with black and white Bazzill cardstock.

Marrakech-Okay this paper just makes me want to go on a trip. Gorgeous color combinations of coral, turquoise, dark brown and green. The dark color is Java Brown.

Now the hard part- you have to choose just one

well, not totally true you can pre order an extra kit if you want.

Have a great day! Today is my dad's 72 Birthday-he gets to spend it with me and all of my scrapbooking stuff spread all over his dining room. What a lucky guy!

Workshop Weekend Sneak Peek - 6x6 Brag Book

Hi Scrapping Chicks

We have another sneak preview to bring you for our February Workshop Weekend. It is for our Mini Class Brag Book. This is one of our 1 hour mini classes, it is scheduled for Saturday evening-when we are ready for a great little simple project to wind down.

We picked out this adorable Jillibean Soup paper collection and embellishment sheet when we were at CHA a few weeks ago-we thought it was the perfect paper for this great little brag book. We also used two of our new dies-an album wrap and a fun set of tabs.
The album pages are 6x6-the perfect size for a few snapshots. Add some ribbon and a magnet closure and this little book is ready to go.

We hope you all have some Super Scrapbooking Plans for tomorrow!

Love is All Around Mini Album

This kit is from a class that I (Kerry) taught last February and I intended to make a few extras to sell. Okay, it never got done.

So fast forward to February 2010-I (Kerry) am currently hanging out in Eastern Washington taking care of my parents for two weeks with LOTS of time on my hands and so it seems like a great time to finish up those kits and get them up for sale.
The album is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and it is a combination of chipboard, acrylic and cardstock with pockets, tags, a slide holder page (think mini photo album), and a ton of hand stamped and hand punched elements.
This album will come pre-cut, pre-punched, and ready for you to assemble and add your photos. I am pre-punching it with the bind it all so if you don't have one you can just insert the wire comb and squeeze it shut with your fingers. It just makes the book so much cuter than rings.
The kit is currently available in the Scrap Yard Chicks Kit Shop. We can't offer "pick up" as a shipping option right now, unless you want to wait until after Feb 12th when I return to the Seattle area.

Enjoy taking photos of all of the people and things that you Love All Around You and adding them to your album.

We're Back! Some project updates for February Workshop Weekend

We are back and exhausted from our time in California at CHA. Such a great time, lots of awesome new things on the horizon.

So, during our trip we learned that the fantastic project pictured in our last post will not be able to happen for our February weekend. The paper line Honey I'm Home by Bella Boulevard is totally out of stock! They couldn't even find 50 little sheets of each pattern for some very sweet chicks in Seattle. Since it was so popular they are probably going to reprint the entire line so we decided to save that project-probably for May.

So the great thing about learning this while you are at a trade show is to look around and figure out what to do instead. Oh, you ladies who are coming in February are in for a treat.

That treat is the new new new Lush line by My Minds Eye. This paper will barely be on the shelves at your local scrapbook store when we have our event, we are so lucky to be able to use it for February. The album is a gorgoeus 8x8 cream colored chipboard album with flocked printing on the front and back cover, the papers we have chosen are Blue (think the color of a gift box from Tiffany) and Chocolate Brown-did I mention that some of the papers are flocked, mmmmm. The embellishments are all color coordinated, ribbon, brads, jewels, and two different kinds of colored chipboard letters! We have photos of this album coming soon. Kathy is busily working away adding some lovely techniques for paper flowers that she learned at the show. Here are a few photos of the paper lines-this is one that you really have to see in person to appreciate just how gorgeous they are.

Since we are using My Minds Eye for our 8x8 album we decided to change it up a bit on another of our projects. We discovered another company we love, Jillibean Soup. Their papers and journaling spots are just so cute. (hmmm, hint hint you might even see some of those journaling spots in your goodie bags February ladies! ) We chose their line Minestrone for one of our mini classes as a brag book. You are going to love this fast and easy class with a great little 6x6 album and album wrap. I am working on this project this week and will have some photos up then.

We also ordered a brand new line from Making Memories-Flutter. So cute. We are using this for our get started project- a Happy Spring Banner.

I promise to put up some new photos this week as our projects get finished up!
Cheers!

Another Project for our February Workshop Weekend- Our Family 8x8 Album

Oh how I love this album by Kathy. Let me count the ways
First, it is a fantastic set of eight-8x8 pages in one of our favorite Bella Boulevard paper lines, Honey I'm Home. The collection is a great combination of navy blue, dark red, gold and green, with fun patterns and a sticker embellishment sheet. Kathy's pages are full of wonderful details with plenty of room for your favorite family pics.

Second, we found these AWESOME album stands. They are heavy acrylic by Clear Scraps, and a super way to display these cute pages. We punched the stands and added rings to the top to attach the pages, which brings me to another thing I love . . .

The pages are inserted in page protectors so you can change them or add to them whenever you want. How great is that? You just flip the page over the back and another page is on display- it is such a great way to liberate your scrapbook pages from inside the dark covers of your albums!

So much to love. My photos on the other hand are not too great-it is hard to photograph the pages in plastic protectors with a flash, but alas it is already 11 pm and I PROMISED to get a new post tonight.
This is another fun class for our February Workshop Weekend. We still have a few spots left- but hurry I signed up two more people today!
Happy Scrapping!
Kerry
